Soccer & Fitness Testing

The warm weather is officially upon us. Our 8th grade is entering their final 3 weeks. We’re doing a couple days of soccer scrimmages before we move onto softball.

In this picture our red team is on the attack. We’ve applied many rules this year that our extracurricular soccer teams use. One I’ve been watching out for is “offsides.” The red team can only pass to the furthest red player ahead as long as their is a defender beside them or further in the distance. In the event that a pass is made to an offensive player ahead with no defender in site a whistle is blown due to the red team having a player offsides.

Our fitness testing is officially complete for the 2017-2018 school year. I’ve produced a laminated chart that is on display in the gymnasium on the west wall. I calculated our results as a school and shared them with each class. The final assignment of our fitness unit was to look over your individual scores, compare them to the averages the student body produced, and to write a short comment as to whether or not your achieved your goals.
